Junior Hemans: Brothers Reaching Out for Support and Saving Lives
Junior Hemans is a powerful voice for Black men’s health and community empowerment in Wolverhampton and beyond. As the founder of B.R.O.S – Brothers Reaching Out for Support, he is dedicated to encouraging open conversation, early detection, and supporting men through some of the biggest health and social challenges they face.
He currently serves as Chair of the Black Men’s Advisory Group for Prostate Cancer UK, tackling one of the most urgent health issues in our community.
Why His Work Matters
- 1 in 4 Black men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime.
- For the wider male population, it’s 1 in 8.
This huge disparity means awareness and early testing are critical. In the podcast, Junior strongly urges:
“If you’re a bro – get yourself tested!”
