Mission & Vision

To celebrate, preserve, and promote the histories and heritage of Wolverhampton’s African and Caribbean communities, ensuring their stories are recognised, respected, and shared for generations to come.

We envision a Wolverhampton where Black history is not confined to a month but embedded in the city’s cultural identity year-round. A city where all communities see themselves reflected in public spaces, education, and the historical record.

Through inclusive storytelling, educational outreach, and cultural collaboration, we aim to:

Champion Black voices in history, culture, and civic life.

Foster unity through shared heritage and intergenerational engagement.

Create access to resources, trails, and materials that educate and inspire.

Promote wellbeing by affirming cultural identity and community pride.
